  • Return PIDs of any running processes with a matching command string:
     
    pgrep {{process_name}}
     
  • Search for processes including their command-line options:
     
    pgrep --full "{{process_name}} {{parameter}}"
     
  • Search for processes run by a specific user:
     
    pgrep --euid root {{process_name}}
