  • Start MPD:
     
    mpd
     
  • Start MPD but don't read from the configuration file:
     
    mpd --no-config
     
  • Start MPD and don't detach it from the console:
     
    mpd --no-daemon
     
  • Kill the currently running MPD session:
     
    mpd --kill
